Sunday Afternoon at the Park

This afternoon the weather was a bit overcast and windy so we decided to head to the park! It takes maybe 1 minute driving and 5 minutes walking to get there so very convenient for us :-)

Riley hasn't been to the park in quite some time so initially she didn't know what to make of it. For the first 30 minutes, all she wanted to do was walk on the wood chips that were on the ground. She just stared at the ground with her eyes bulging and walked over them again and again. It was hysterical.

Then she saw some low lying palm trees off to the side where the branches kind of hung down toward the ground. So she walked toward them and as we were watching her, she walked under one of the palm tree leaves. It grazed across her head and she was astounded! So she turned and did it again...and again...and again. It was too cute :-)
Oh yes, as a side note here, I am still working on formatting these blogs. I don't particularly like the pictures scrolling ALL THE WAY DOWN the left side so will work on that! :-)

Parts of the park have wood chips and parts of the park have this bouncy-like foam that you can walk on. It's a darker color than the wood chips as you'll see in the pictures. Riley had such a blast walking from the foam to the wood chips and back. Bob and I tried taking her down the slide, through the tunnel, on the swings and the seasaw and would you believe, all she really wanted to do was walk over the foam and the wood chips. I honestly think she just liked the feeling of being free, able to roam aimlessly and the different textures she was walking on. So thrilling for a little 1 year old!
