Mimi and Poppy Visit!

Guess who came for a visit? My dad and stepmom, also known as Poppy and Mimi! Yay! We were SO excited to see them and the day they arrived couldn't come fast enough. I just wish they could have stayed longer as the trip seemed to go so fast.

Riley and I went to pick them up at the airport on the day they arrived. I was SO HAPPY to see these 2 faces. I have truly, truly missed them.

My dad is such a goofball, hee-hee :-)Riley and I picked them up and drove them to the Dolphin Hotel and it was just gorgeous! Everything is perfectly accessible there so you don't ever have to drive. The Disney parks are all within walking distance (or by bus) and the restaurants, pools and shops are awesome. This was the perfect place to stay!

Here they are checking in for the week :-)
Mimi is just so pretty :-) How we love her!
Riley was looking at all the architecture in the hotel in addition to the fountains and ceiling. It was all gorgeous!
Checking out the fountain in the center :-)
Throwing pennies in!

The ceilings were beautiful. Everything was beautiful!

Riley and I plopped on some chairs and were goofy until my dad and Jen were done checking in. I took a couple pictures of the 2 of us being silly :-)
I love my girl :-)
Yay! Finally arrived!
Walking to check out the pool!
Riley was pointing out the fountains by the pool. It's just SO beautiful here. I have TONS of great pictures by the pool so stay tuned!
My dad checking out some of the grounds :-) They have a beach, hammocks, paddle boats, a playground and also a splash pad with a seal that squirts water here. So much fun stuff!
Not all of these pictures loaded correctly. Oh well :-) Here is one of Mimi and Riley by the fountain!
This is one of my favorite shots of Riley and her Mimi. Love-love this! Jen got Riley this puffer fish that goes, "BOING!" when you bop it. It's absolutely hilarious and Riley totally LOVES it. She plays with it every day I think.
Checking out more of the pool :-)
They have this awesome candy store inside the hotel so Mimi and Poppy bought Riley some candy from in there. Here they are digging into the bag :-)

HUGE close up of Jack's face :-) I was having fun with the camera, hee-hee :-) Jack wasn't actually with us on the first day so these 2 were taken a bit later when I got home. But I wanted to include him cause he's a cutie patootie :-)
Look at those gorgeous, HUGE blue eyes! :-)
Another cute shot of Riley and her Mimi :-)Some new pool toys and a necklace!
This was Poppy's first time meeting his grandson. It was such a sweet moment. I snapped a million pictures. The two of them just stared at each other quietly taking each other in....like studying one another. It was adorable. My dad getting to meet his grandson...LOVED this moment and one I've been waiting for forever it feels like.

Poppy was noticing what strong legs Jack has! :-)

He noticed his momma here :-)

Jack was totally content to chill with his Poppy on the lounge chair :-) He is going to be a chair man like his poppy! Hee-hee :-)

Riley was super excited to go swimming and start our adventure for the week. Here she is checking out her new necklace :-)

Lots more fun pictures so stay tuned!

Hello Baby Food!

Last week I took Jack for his 4 month appointment. He's actually been 4 months since the 29th of August but they have been super busy in the office so we didn't get in until last week!

I never like seeing my babies get shots and last week was no exception. Poor Jack just screamed and screamed and I felt so badly for him! His little thighs are super skinny too so it seemed like when those big needles went in, they went right to the bone. Ugh. I flinched each time he was pricked, poor boy. And the worst is when they ask you to "hold their hands down." I always want to say, "Why me?!" I seriously hate holding him down. It makes me feel like I'm helping inflict the pain!

Jack is in the 90th percentile for height and only 50th for weight. Basically, a long, long string bean! He has one full tooth in, half another tooth and apparently is teething along the top gumline. The poor boy is chewing on his hands and fingers like they taste like candy! And the drool....oh my goodness the drool. He soaks more bibs than I can even count. We bring spare bibs with us everywhere these days and if I forget to put one on him, then his outfit has to be changed within the hour.

I did ask the doctor about Jack and his sensitivity to noise. He gets startled very easily and will cry if something changes suddenly in front of him or if anything is really loud. The doctor said that's just his personality and he may be a very sensitive person. Sounds like someone I know...his sister! :-)

Anyways..now the big news. The doctor wanted us to start food! Yay! Normally kids start with rice cereal but the doctor said with Jack's constipation issues, that we really needed to jump right to the apples and pears. That would continue to help him go #2. So I went out on Thursday and bought some and then on Friday, I gave Jack his first apples :-) Starting out, he gets food with 2 bottles. I still am continuing his bottle schedule but have just added food apples to 2 of his bottles.

Below are some pictures of Jack's first morning with food. It was absolutely hilarious trying to get the spoon in and then watching his tongue try to shove the food back out was hysterical!

I look awful because it was early and we had all just gotten up, but anyhoot, take a look at all of the many faces Jack makes trying out the apples :-)

"That's a weird looking object mommy is trying to thrust at me."
What IS this stuff mommy??? Can I please have my milk back?

Laughing, laughing and more laughing :-) It was so funny trying to get him to eat.

There were also a ton of times that he tried to grab the spoon but there aren't any pics of that cause Bob had to go to work. That's a new thing though!....grabbing at stuff. He is just now learning that if he puts his hands out, he can latch on to things. So cute!
Riley was fascinated also :-)
Clapping for Jack!
Somehow the closer the spoon got to Jack's mouth, the wider my mouth got. I think there was a string attached or something, hee-hee :-) No really, somewhere in my head I've got myself deluded to thinking that if I open my mouth really big, maybe Jack will do the same. As you can see, he just looked at me like I was a nut, ha-ha.

My baby boy is growing up too fast!

Laor Day Fun

We went to Brenda's for Labor Day and had a really fun and relaxing day. Riley wanted to hit the pool right away so here is Auntie Brenda helping her with her goggles :-)

Of course, she still had her clothes on so we had to then take them off to get her bathing suit on :-)

Riley had an absolute BLAST riding on Nana around the pool :-)

Auntie Brenda was hilarious with the whipped cream. She squirted it in her mouth and it ended up all over her face. Riley thought it was awesome!Love these pictures of Riley with her Uncle Chris.

He is so handsome :-) Love my bro
This picture is just adorable. I want to get it blown up and framed!

Miss Uncle Chris but am grateful for the time we got to spend together. Hope you had a nice Labor Day!
